Hockey Puck Display Stand

We made one of these for Chris at Christmas time and after a friend saw it he wanted one as well.

The puck holders are made from cedar , while the rest of the stand is made from pine to give it a bit of a contrast.

We didn’t put a finish on this so the boy could put on his own finish.

Pine Cabinet

We had been charging out Phones and tablets next to a cutting board in the kitchen. Not the smartest place to be putting electronics, but was a convenient place for everyone.

We decided to build this little cabinet as a charging station for our electronics, it is only 9 inches deep and about 20 inches wide.

The tops is a butcher block style also done in pine and is just oiled.

The finish is red chestnut and 2 coats of shellac.

We found the plans for this on the Minwax page, before jumping right in though be aware the cut list is totally wrong and some of the finished measurements are wrong a swell. Make sure to review the plans carefully if you decide to use them.

Cherry Tablet Stand

Made from a few off cuts of cherry, simple stand with two viewing angles.

Thinking of selling these for about $29.95 a piece.

So what does everyone think of the simple design?

Athens Cornfest Signs

Cedar and Tile Deck Table

My Mom had told us ages ago she was in need of a table to go with her outdoor chairs.

We were busy with several other projects and only recently got around to building it for her.

The actual project was quite easy to do and we completed the tables in around 6 hours.

We already had tiles left over from what we think was our kitchen floor at the old house. Everything except the legs is made from left over cedar deck board and I had a 8/4 piece of cedar we used for the legs.

I built 2 of these, my mom will get first pick on the one she wants and we have a special idea planned for the other one.

Chris Graduates from Fanshawe

We had the very proud moment yesterday of watching Chris graduate with a 3.8 grade point average in Television broadcasting at Fanshawe College.

The picture below sums up exactly how we all felt, you can see the joy and pride in the face of Christophers Grandmother as she turns to look up at Chris.

I know she is going to crap all over me for posting this picture but I hope after she reads this post that she will allow me to leave the picture.

Chris is continuing with a post grad course in Belleville in the fall and then off to the real world.

We have been very blessed and know how lucky we are to have such a great son.

ya I know mushy.. but the truth.
